DALE! Guys Picks: Hollywood Casino 400

Every week each letter will take a stab at guessing the race winner. Let us know who ya got in the comments, as long as it ain't some bum from JGR. Recap and reaction with standings will come Monday morning.

D: Maybe it's a boring pick. Maybe it's too safe of a pick. Maybe it's statistically improbable having just won last week. But my pick is JJ all the way way. Kah-naus has the kah-knowhow and Jimmie's got the go-how. Barring a wreck, he's putting the 48 in the top 10, and he has the speed at Kansas to put it in the winner's circle should everything else fall into place. You know he's driving for consistency rather than wins in the Chase, but I wouldn't want him in my rearview with 10 to go.

A: It would be too cliche for me to start this off with a Junebug pick in our first week. Or JJ. Or Kenseth. Would it be smart to pick one of the latter? Yes, but smarts is not what The Dale guys are about. They're about guts; big, fat, beer belly guts. That's why my logic is simple... What's boring and round? Both Kansas and the ford logo. God knows I would never pick that prick the biff, so I look for cousin Carl Edwards to take it (second to Dale jr, that is). Hey, if Chevy ain't gon get it done, at least cuz wins one for MERICA this weekend.

L:  Let's keep this short and sweet, just like my pick to win this week's race, Miss Danica Patrick. Just kidding. We all know Danica is just going to ride around in the back all day and finish somewhere ahead of the BK cars but where no one really cares. The only thing more exciting than watching Danica race is everything. Because the D bitched out and stole my pick I had to change things up. Now I thought about picking his driver but the only thing that pussywillow Denny Hamlin is good for nowadays is breaking himself and giving Danica another beatable driver. It came down to two drivers for me, Little Joey and the Closer. Both did well in testing and both are capable of winning this race but I've got to go with Harvick. While I'll be opening some Buds this weekend he'll be closing the race.

E: Kasey Kahne has been pretty disappointing this chase with no top 10's since Bristol back in August. I think he turns it around this week. Ole Blue Eyes is great at the 1.5 mile tracks and since 2011 he has his highest average finish of any track at Kansas, with an average of 6. The #5 gets it together this week and takes home the win. (And by win I mean 2nd because Jr. is obviously taking the checker)

!: My pick for this week may not have had himself one hell of a chase, but I think he could turn that No. 22 Penske Ford around and right into victory lane at Kansas. Joey has been down on his luck in recent races but you could see him turn it around, starting at Kansas. With a solid practice an qualifying run, look for Joey Logano to sneak his way into the winners circle and hopefully knocking Kyle Busch out of his way and into the wall. Also, a little upset I have to settle for the "!" After being the "D" for 5 races this year. We gon' have to see about this shit.
