Time for the weekly article I am most excitedabout (with Earnhardt history a close second), the 1-bar of the week. If you're confused or curious as to what a 1-bar might be, let me explain. The Dale guys have learned from a source that Dale has a secret code word for the guys and girl he looks to avoid on Sundays, a 1-bar.
The thought behind that is when you have 1-bar of service on your cell phone, you look to get out of that area. Clever, huh. Didn't know Dale had it in him.
The inaugural 1-bar of the week was probably the easiest choice possible, though Kyle certainly gave her a run for her money as the race went on. I think every race fan could've predicted that with some of the most skilled drivers in the sport have problems just practicing, there was no way Danica Patrick was going to make it very far. I'm not sure anyone had predicted this though...
A Hollywood Casino 0.5! Not even a fuckin' turn. That's exactly what happens when I go into 1 in the NASCAR: Inside Line video game. Shoot the middle and use a BK car as a bumper. Only problem is Danica is a multi-million dollar athlete. I guess it's OK though, because she's paid to take pictures, not drive race cars.
At least she was able to rekindle fond memories of last years tangle with the poor same BK car. Danica is just trying to make sure they pit it and quit it every race.
There you have it, an EXTREMELY well-deserved 1-bar of the week award. Let's hope Junebug can stay clear of her moving forward. I'll give 5/3 odds she doesn't finish at Dega. Any takers?
