So, in case you missed it, we were lucky enough to be selected for the #488hangout today hosted by Jimmie and starring Dale Jr. We've known about it for about a week, and could not have been more excited. Who would've thought a little chest painting and some short cut-offs would have us interviewing Dale Jr. during speedweeks.
We were initially prepared to have all 4 Dale guys on separate webcams for this chat, but we're shut down last minute by the organizers. That being said, they still let us have the 'D' and 'A' so kudos to you google for working with us.
They asked for three questions, two fun and one racing. Here is what you have been waiting for, what we WANTED to ask....
The 'A's questions:
1) Dale, you obviously had a great year last year and were strong in the chase, but missed wins by close margins a couple of times... Which hurt more: Having a shot at JJ and not being able to get by at Dover, or having the caution end 'Dega before you got your shot?
2) What does a monday after a race look like for you? And by that, I mean what beer are you drinkin'? @TheDaleGuys usually go with the Bud America cans, but we're lookin' for a lucky beer for '14.
3) We're going to be at Daytona this weekend and we'd love to hang out when you have time. Where can we get a Dale Call (reference to Dale's super bowl commercial and future merchandise) so that we can find you?
The 'D's Questions:
1) Dale, do you have to practice listing all your sponsors in preparation for interviews? You got this year's down yet? Could you do it right now if you had to?
2) This is a question for both of you guys. @TheDaleGuys got blocked on Twitter by Kyle Busch last year. We're wondering if there's a driver or a team that you guys, if not dislike, kind of just try to ignore?
3) Jimmy, I'm not just here representing @TheDaleGuys, but also the University of Michigan cycling team. We know you love to ride and we'd love to ride a lap of Michigan Speedway with you. Any extra room in the hauler for your bike when you race here this spring or summer?Obviously, for anyone who watched the hangout, that's not the script we were given, one question a piece, scripted. Mine read "What's a typical Monday like after the race? How do you relax?" Obviously, I'm going rogue on that one, so I spun it. Fast forward to 7:00 to see what happens.

But a laugh from the only guys that count.
Anyway, a huge thanks to everyone that made this happen. Wish we had a little more freedom, but just happy to be there. Honestly, seemed like Dale and Jimmie wanted to chat a little more too, but alas, 17 mins later it was over. Looking forward to an awesome '14 and we'll see ya'll in Tona. #godalego
